HISTORY

Ring Mekanikk started humbly in Moelv in 1942. The first products were gramophones and workboxes for sewing equipment. These were popular products during the second world war. These were times when everything had to be repaired and used again.

Shortly after the war the first chair mechanism were developed. Some of the earlier versions were made in such a way that they were way ahead of the competition, and were made for years and years hereafter. Many of them are still in use!

Ring Mekanikk has over the years grown into a solid company with approx. 90 employees, a world wide market and more than 10 mill. sold mechanisms.

In 1974 the first complete railway seats were developed. Later, in co-operation with NSB (Norwegian Railways), there have been more development in this field, and international recognition has been achieved. Amongst others the prestigious Gardermobanen (from Oslo to Gardermoen airport).

PRODUCTION

Our factory is equipped with the most up to date machinery which includes:

·          Welding robots

·          Assembly robots

·          Hydraulic / mechanical presses

·          Swaging machine

·          3D-milling machine

·          Epoxy powder paint plant

·          Laser processing machine

all which are housed in a production area of 11 000 square meters.

PRODUCTS

The main focus for Ring Mekanikk today is mechanisms for office-chairs, recliners and transport seating. We also aim to be a leader within ergonomic seating and to reach that goal we have invested heavily in product development, customer support, quality control and high technology production equipment.

These investments are now giving fruits, by our ability to develop new, advanced and customised products.

Our export share of sales are approx. 80%.

QUALITY

Our QA-system aims to meet the demands of ISO 9001. We also have, in our premises, fully equipped testing laboratories where we ensure the products’ compliance with all BIFMA, DIN, FIRA and EURO Standards. This again makes it possible for us to give all products coming from Ring Mekanikk a 5 years warranty against manufacturing defects.
