Ring Mekanikk have for some time cooperated with SIVA (The Industrial Development Corporation of Norway) on planning and opening a new assembly facility in Ogre, Latvia. Ogre is situated 35 kilometers outside Riga, capital of Latvia, by the river Daugava. The territory occupied by the park constitutes 3,1 hectares and in case of necessity can be enlarged on account of the nearby vacant land plots.

The opening ceremony took place on the 5th of June and both officials and the tennants with their gests were well represented. The agenda for the day offered a rich variety of experiences. It started with a guided tour of Ogre, followed by a welcome speech given by SIVAs Geir Reiersen. Next on the program was a guided tour of the industrial park, with short intros on plans, production and products by the tennants TM Metal and Ring Baltic.

The big official moment was the "cutting of the ceremonial cord". The procedure was carried out by Ms. Bente Berg (Mrs. Stig Berg, Director TM Metal Baltic) and Mr. Harald Ynnesdal (President SIVA), assisted by Mr. Maris Kapusts (Project Leader SIVA Ogre) and Mr. Tore Lie (Managing Director Ring Mekanikk AS).

Speeches were held by Harald Ynnesdal, President of SIVA and Jan Wessel Hegg, Norwegian Ambassador. The participants were then offered an elegant standing buffet accompanied by music from Ogres Brass Band.

After the music more speeches were held, by TM Metal Baltic, Ring Baltic and to official welcome the business to Ogre; the Mayor.

The séance ended with a performance by a local chorus.
